About this photo...
This palace, interesting for its incredible outside spiral staircase, is almost hidden in the San Marco Sestiere, some steps from la Riva del Carbon. Cross the little Campo Luca, then the Campo Manin, and you're almost there. Take then the extremely narrow street (it's indicated) and you will discover the beautiful architecture of this palace built at the end of the 15th century by the rich Contarini family. The word "Bovolo" meaning "snail" in Venetian dialect, defines the helicoïdal shape of this famous staircase. This photo has been viewed 1912 times
